Welcome to the Frontiers in Infrastructure Conference 2008

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the second annual Frontiers in Infrastructure Conference, held on Wednesday, 20 August 2008 at Sheraton on the Park, Sydney. Special thanks to our event sponsors and speakers for their time and efforts towards the event.

Speaker presentations are now available for download here.

Discussions throughout the day provided new perspectives on procuring and delivering infrastructure projects in Australia. Transfield Services chairman, Tony Shepherd, said that it was time to refresh the PPP model, pointing out the risky and high bid costs, and government bias for risk allocation in current models.

The investment community discussed challenges in accessing Australian assets despite their appetite for domestic investments. They shed light on the current investment climate, particularly for direct equity holdings, and reasons for their offshore infrastructure holdings.

Detailed event coverage will be available in the October edition of INFRASTRUCTURE Policy, Finance & Investment magazine. InAssociation is dedicated to driving the agenda forward for the Australian infrastructure sector in policy, finance and investment areas. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
