The 6th annual Australian Securitisation Conference was held at the Hilton Sydney from 28-30 Nov, offering an important and timely gathering of almost 900 of the region's securitisation professionals. See photos here

The conference agenda reflected the very challenging landscape facing the asset-backed sector globally as 2007 comes to a close. The international speakers had the attention of delegates with a hard hitting opening panel on the US and European markets which are currently in disarray.
The sessions covering the Australian markets included wide-ranging and brutally honest remarks that reflected as much emotion as fact on the current market difficulties. The presentations by the RBA and APRA were particularly of benefit to investors, issuers and intermediaries. ASF Chairman, Phil Vernon announced a research program to detail what investors want to see from issuers going forward, as a response to global changing market conditions and investor demand on data standards.
It was an exciting and lively Australian Securitisation Exhibition packed attendees and Wii games, prize giveaways, lollies, chocolates, gelati, smoothies and goodies galore. The Stargate stand stole the show on Thursday afternoon with the arrival of former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins. The Scared Weird Little Guys entertained the masses at the ASF Gala Dinner before they kicked on into the late hours at the After Party.
Congratulations to Societe Generale (boat Cocomo) for taking out first place in the 4th annual ASF Regatta, with BNY Trust (boat Irukandji) and Commonwealth Bank in second and third place respectively.

On behalf of the ASF, we would like to thank all our sponsors, speakers and attendees for their contribution to the success of the overall event. We look forward to seeing you all in 2008.
